Gamma Tennis Balls Review October 19, 2007 Thomas L. Collins 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I use a ball machine about 2 times a week, so that is about 600 balls I hit a week. The gamma balls usually hold up about 3 months when using them in this way. You can't play a set with them, or they will be trash after the first set, but they are perfect for the ball machine. I am going to keep buying them.
Never buy gamma ball !!! August 4, 2007 Y. wang (Chicago, IL) 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
I bought 2 buckets to use in my ball machine. Only 3 weeks and these gamma balls are dead. They still bounce but losing fuzz like crazy -- to the extent that balls are no longer round. They would bounce like a football! Totally unpredictable. Consider buying a hair-cut toolset if you are buying these balls -- prepare to give them a shave after 3 weeks. These all happened in just 3 weeks, not 1 or 2 balls but literally entire 2 buckets. I have other balls used together in the same ball machine(Prince, Wilson, Penn), They all hold up OK, only these gamma balls are worn out. I tried to return the balls back to Golf Smith, the manager said:"Yes, these balls are dead, but they are practice balls, not supposed to last long". Gee! Isn't it true that pressureless practice balls should last longer than pressurized balls? The guy is a total ignorant. I am now in the process of returning these balls to their Texas headquarter.
Great practice balls June 29, 2007 I. Walker 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
These balls work great for long term tennis practice. Obviously they are not wilson US Open balls, but they are great for regular play. I read one review with some guy saying the balls were hard and hurt his wrist and shoulder, but I've had no similar experience with these. The best thing about them is they actually bounce more once the felt wears a little bit. The only thing is the price. If possilbe buy these at a local GolfSmith store or a pro shop might carry them.
bucket-o-balls June 8, 2007 W. Gross 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
The bucket that the balls came in was meant to be reusable (thus preventing waste). However, the "bucket" was so difficult to open that I ended up breaking the bucket while prying off the top. Such a waste - balls are fine - but bucket is just trash. Would have been more ecological for provider to just put the balls in a recyclable cardboard box and ship them.
Big and Firm Balls May 7, 2007 Louis XIV (Bothell, WA) 10 out of 22 found this review helpful
First, I must admit that I do not play tennis. I bought all these balls for my dad's blind German Shepard for Christmas. These balls have brought so much joy. Max, the blind German Shepard, loves these balls and likes the sound that they make when they hit the ground so that he can find the ball. I have spend countless hours playing fetch...which is totally priceless to me.
