These are quality knee savers and a great bargain at that (other knee savers tend to run several dollars more than these). "Large" is intended for adults, while "Small" is made for children. Instructions on the box are explicit and actually helpful. These knee savers are of most benefit when a catcher is in position as if there are no men on base. We used these on All-Star shin guards and they fit perfectly.
